ARNOLD PALMER'S BAY HILL CLUB & LODGE (Orlando)

Resort Stay & Play

Truly one of the most recognizable courses in America, Bay Hill is known as Arnold Palmer's winter home course. The original design, by Dick Wilson, dates back to 1961. However, it seems like they are always tinkering with the layout, making it better and tougher for today's pros. The course is most famous for its final three holes, but the other 15 are just as impressive. It's one of those layouts that can just jump up and grab you at anytime. Number six, for example, probably sees more X's than pars. It's a massive par five, that hooks around a beautiful lake. A stay at Bay Hill is golf at its best! Who knows, you may even see Mr. Palmer on the course, the practice tee, or in the clubhouse.

PLEASE NOTE: Bay Hill is a private club and only available to guests of the Bay Hill Club & Lodge.

ORLANDO Elite

Surcharge From -($5.00)

Ranked #18 by Golfweek's Best Courses To Play in Florida 2008, this exciting links-style course called for all of architect Steve Smyers' years of skill and ability in course design. The goal — to build a challenging test of golf, a pleasurable experience for all skill levels, a stern challenge for long hitters. As a reclaimed phosphate mine with stands of native oaks, the original terrain was flat. The topography now features undulating fairways (six connected by winding bridges) and multi-tiered tees and greens, many surrounded by well- placed bunkers. The flow of the land around the greens was carried onto the putting surfaces, resulting in slopes, ridges, and numerous potential hole locations. BridgeWater requires 'strategy' to play skillfully and rewards classic shotmaking with an extra risk/reward approach. In Lakeland, just off I-4 between Kissimmee and Tampa.

ORLANDO Elite

Surcharge From $17.00

Greg Norman has designed the National as a classic American-style layout that rolls gently through 200 acres of southern woodlands and wetlands. The layout's key trait is diversity with wall-to-wall fairway bunkers running up along holes 12 through 16, three double doglegs, a massive double-green shared by the fourth and 16th holes, and a sunken fairway on the seventh. Impeccably maintained, the National boasts a pristine, natural golf experience without bordering homes or developments. Enjoy an incredible 36-hole day with its equally challenging and memorable sister course, The International. DEBARY GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB (Debary) Find out how you can play this course all day

Surcharge From $0.00

Located on Orlando's north side in DeBary, this challenging course was designed by the golf design team of Clifton, Ezell and Clifton and is part of a vibrant semi-private country club community. Most holes are set away from the community by a buffer zone of dense woods and vegetation. The setting is more reminiscent of the Carolinas than Central Florida and The National Audubon Society has certified the course as an official bird sanctuary habitat. Most interesting for this part of Florida is the fact that the layout features just one water hazard, which borders both the 9th and 18th greens; these finishing holes join together and create a beautiful backdrop for their spacious clubhouse. With great course conditions, undulating fairways, and greens that always roll true and fast, it's no wonder Debary is consistently chosen as a US Open Qualifying site.

Architect Joe Lee called Deer Island the "most unique course I've ever designed." An excellent value, this course is well worth the drive to Mt. Dora, 40 minutes northwest of Orlando. This championship design by Mike Dasher gives you tree-lined fairways reminiscent of the Carolinas, open spacious fairways likened to the great Scottish courses, and a bit of old Florida with citrus trees dotting the countryside. Large, fast, undulating greens make this course challenging and fun for all levels of golfers with water coming into play (barely) on just one hole, #10. It's a very sporty course and although it's a tad shorter in length, it can still be a "wee tough" if your game's not on! Conveniently located just minutes from the Walt Disney World area, Highlands Reserve is a Central Florida favorite! Since opening its doors in 1998, this course has been a Golfpac favorite - one of the most requested courses. Customers continually rank its customer service and course conditioning as top notch.

Rolling fairways (some dramatic), undulating greens and well-placed berms, bunkers and sandy waste areas, as well as water on 11 holes, all only begin to characterize the aura of El Campeon. Just rated 4 stars by Golf Digest's "Best Places To Play, 2008/2009," a highly awarded distinction amongst pier Central Florida golf courses. Its wide open fairways and gently rolling hills create an inland links design that contrasts and at the same time, compliments its older sister course. Greens are large and undulating, while the course's classic old architecture style demands proper shot placement. Water can be found on 14 holes and again, large berms are found to framework numerous fairways. Discover nature in its natural habitat along with abundant wildlife where this championship layout was carved out of yesteryear's orange groves. Arnold Palmer's 6916-yard Legacy course at Reunion Resort is routed over surprisingly hilly "roller coaster-like" terrain. The natural flow of the land provides dramatic elevation changes and creates a number of "risk/reward" shots for the gutsy player. Much like Mr. Palmer himself, you can "go for broke" on numerous occasions. In particular, the 349-yard, par-four 13th is vintage Palmer. It just begs for a heroic tee shot and - if pulled off -- a legitimate chance for eagle or birdie.

Says Watson; "Golf attracts more players than any other outdoor sport. No doubt there are almost as many reasons for this as there are players, but one reason is certainly shared by all. It's the simple pleasure of being on a beautiful course." While The Independence is certainly beautiful, it's equally challenging. Shot positioning is crucial as water and/or wetlands can be found on 16 holes; however, the fairways had been widened in 2004 to create more fair and forgiving landing areas. The front nine is not encumbered by homes, but water features do abound. The back nine plays through a more residential area, offering more generous fairways. STONEGATE GOLF CLUB - CYPRESS (Poinciana)

    Surcharge From $2.00

Open January 2006, the Cypress Course at Stonegate (formerly Poinciana) has been skillfully redesigned by Clifton, Ezell & Clifton, being fabricated into a more challenging layout than its predecessor. Fairways are gently rolling and flanked by undisturbed century-old cypress trees; all the greens have been expanded in size to feature undulations acceptable for much faster roll - some greens have now been bulk-headed for a truly spectacular visual affect. Cart paths now run the length of the course, tee to green, and water comes into play on 13 holes. Don't expect to recognize many of the new holes as this picturesque redesign will have you questioning your ability to remember what used to be! The Cypress is a unique addition to this terrific golf facility and creates a great 36-hole combination with its sister course, the Oaks. Play them both - you won't be disappointed.

STONEGATE GOLF CLUB - OAKS (Poinciana)

    Surcharge From $2.00

As the focal point of the new community at Solivita, Stonegate Golf Club is a great example of how a course can be enjoyable for players of all ages and abilities. Designer Ron Garl laid the course out at over 7000 yards from the back tees for the "big hitters," but also ingeniously mapped out three more forgiving sets of tees. With water on eight holes and free-forming collars around the greens, there's a definite emphasis on the short game. After all, golf's most famous adage is "drive for show and putt for dough." Always meticulously groomed with rolling, tree-lined fairways, natural vegetation and wetlands, and a habitat to the native wildlife, what's not to like?! Whether playing 18 or 36 holes with its sister course, The Cypress, you'll treasure the memory of these two fine courses. Located in Poinciana, about 25 minutes south of US192 in Kissimmee and the Disney area.
